The following video outlines how to attach cleats onto your shoes:
To attach the cleats to your cycling shoes, fit the cleat over the three screw holes on the bottom of your shoes.
Make sure to set the middle of your cleat across the ball of the foot on the shoe. The cleats should be tightened down as much as possible, not allowing for any movement.
Place the washers into the recesses of the cleats and put a screw into each screw hole. Using a 4mm hex key, tighten the screws to securely attach them to your shoes.
On your downstroke, you want to feel that your weight is in the ball of your foot. To check if your cleats are in the right position, you should engage and release the pedals a couple of times to make sure the position is comfortable. If you experience any discomfort in your feet, legs, or knees, try adjusting the cleat.
